SHRINE: What Do You Worship? is a continuous performance installation piece wherein solo artist / performer Claire Elizabeth Barratt builds an installation, which she then inhabits for one week. During this time she continues to manipulate the installation, perform a variety of rituals and build a shrine which audience members are then invited to augment.

This fall, sculptor Patrick Pierce and movement artist Claire Elizabeth Barratt collaborate to create a two-part project at 119 Gallery, Life is Art is Life is…-- a gallery installation and performance series which they will create as summer gallery artists in residence. The installation will include metal and wood sculptures, sound, video, written word and objects. A series of performances are scheduled during the exhibit and Lowell Open Studios that will integrate dance, music, poetry and sculpture. Each performance will echo elements of the installation and its subject matter, and will further develop and alter the installation.
