NY - On Saturday, Feb. 9th at 7pm, join us for “Blind Dates”, a spirited
evening of dance, music and storytelling. The evening will consist of a series
of “blind dates” in which one dancer and one musician will be chosen on the
spot to improvise a duet when their names are picked from a hat. The musicians
range in diversity from an Opera singer to a harmonica player.
These
pairings will include Deborah Gladstein with Marlon
Cherry, Sarah Pope with Leo Hernandez, and Jennifer
Wilenta with Shigemasa Nakano.
Other
performers will include dancers Madison Krekel, Claire Barratt,
and Mark Lamb along with musicians Leeanne Darling,Maryanne de
Prophetis, Yayoi Ikiwa, Terre Roche, Kendra Shank, and Helen
Yee.
The evening
will consist of three performance sets interwoven with breaks for wine and
homemade food, conversation and participation.

119 Gallery presents XFest 2013,
a festival of improvised music, visuals, movement, and poetry. The format of
the festival is simple and challenging: 25 visiting artists and 70 local
artists perform. On Friday and Saturday evening there are 10 half-hour sets
that feature visiting artists with local artists at 119 Gallery. This year, on
Saturday afternoon visiting and local poets read with the musicians at
UnchARTed Gallery. On Sunday afternoon local bands will play at Lowell
Telecommunications Corp.
